Major Alexander Bruce – Structured Finance

“Sandy” Bruce was born in Sumatra & Educated at Fettes College, in Edinburgh.

His banking career in Aberdeen took off in the 1970’s with his appointment as Regional Director of Slater Walker Ltd, at the time the foremost commercial bank in Europe. After 4 years, he established his presence in the property scene by developing his city-centre assets to introduce Business Centres to Aberdeen. With 3 units operational, his Company, Moray House, was invited to develop Willowbank House for Aberdeen District Council. Throughout this period Sandy had retained his banking connections and has developed these to provide a wide variety of solutions for commercial clients both in the UK and overseas markets. His Company retains a presence in Limassol, Cyprus where excellent local connections are an important feature. Sandy was a Non-Executive Director of Walker Technical Resources Ltd in Aberdeen for 6 years, resigning 2008 on the sale of the Company.

Sandy lives in Royal Deeside and has two grown-up children. He was commissioned into the 1st Bn., The Gordon Highlanders ACF and after ten years, retired in the rank of Major, having been in command of Delta Company for 3 years. He is a member of the Royal Northern & University Club in Aberdeen.
